Born in Alabama, I planned to be a veterinarian from the age of 9. My career with pets started soon after. In high school I graduated from neighborhood pet sitter to working at a private practice in kennels. As I worked my way through my secondary education, I also mastered all roles in the clinic from receptionist to technical assistant. In 2000, I graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and achieved my dream of becoming a veterinarian.
After graduation, I joined a private small animal practice in Birmingham, Alabama. For 17 years I remained in Birmingham, helping to create a thriving family pet practice with a wonderfully dedicated clientele and a slew of amazing patients. I was blessed with mentorship, a great team/colleagues and opportunities to practice high-level medicine. I will forever be grateful for that experience.
In the 17th year of practice, a wonderful development in my personal life occurred. I became a military spouse and life changed. We moved to Texas where the environment and opportunities were different. For 6 years we remained in San Antonio as my career transitioned from private practice to corporate area leadership. I grew in each role, further developing my practice and leadership skills.
In 2023 military life dictated another change. Leaving behind another great work experience, I arrived with my family in Hampton Roads Virginia ready to provide relief for great practices in the area!
